How To Get Here
If you are planning a trip to Island Brač from the UK, then you have a few options (see below for info on travelling from other countries in Europe).
Option 1 - Flying:
Direct from the UK to Split (SPU) airport:
The quickest way to get to Brac is to fly directly to Split airport; the flight time from UK airports to Split airport is approx. 2 hours and 15 mins. There are a number of airlines that make this trip from a selection of UK airports.
As an alternative, during the summer months, there is a flight every Saturday from Zagreb direct to Brac airport, near Bol. Check Croatia Airline’s website for flights and prices www.croatiaairlines.com.

Option 2 - Fly/Drive:
A number of budget airlines offer cheap flights to other locations in Croatia such as Zagreb, Rijeka and Pula in the north and Dubrovnik in the south. Most airports offer car hire pick up and can be booked in advance via the airport’s website. If you are planning an overnight stay as part of your trip to Brac Island, we suggest you book in advance if travelling during July/August. There is lots of useful information at http://www.visit-croatia.co.uk/ .
Option 3 - Fly/Ferry:
Ryan Air offers competitively priced flights to Ancona on the east coast of Italy. There is an overnight ferry from Ancona to Split but check schedules as they vary depending on the time of year. It would be advisable to book your ferry crossing in advance if travelling during the height of the season. http://www.bli-ferry.com
Option 4 – Driving
For the more ambitious, and those with more time, the drive from the UK to Brac is amazing. Whichever route across Europe you choose you can be assured that the views will impress and that it will be a journey to remember. Cost-wise, it is probably cheaper to fly as ferry crossings, accommodation, fuel and tolls on main routes all need to be taken into account. It is worth noting also that since the introduction of the Euro, many exchange offices on main routes have closed so foreign currency or traveller's cheques are more difficult to exchange. Most service areas have cash points for withdrawing money from overseas bank accounts.
Split airport to Island Brac:
On arrival at Split airport, which is approx. 25 kilometres outside of the town of Split, you can choose to either hire a car (you can book this in advance, check Split airport’s website for car hire companies), use the local taxi service to take you to the ferry port at Split, or catch the airport bus that runs frequently between the airport and the ferry port in Split (approx. 40 mins transfer).
To continue your journey to the island you will need to use one of the very efficient connection services operated by Jadrolinija, Croatia’s national ferry service. Car/passenger ferries run regularly throughout the day from Split to Supetar on Island Brac. If you are travelling without a car, you will need to use the local bus service from Supetar to Bol, the bus station is very close to the port. Alternatively, foot passengers can catch the catamaran which operates at 4pm daily from Split direct to Bol (and returns to Split at 6:30 am everyday, except Sunday which is 7:30 am to Split). www.jadrolinija.hr
Ferry and catamaran crossing times are between 45 mins -1 hour. If travelling by car in the height of the season (July & August) it is advisable to arrive at the port in Split at least 1 hour before your crossing owing to the volume of vehicles using this service. It is not possible to make a reservation as the service is operated on a first come first served basis.
